Current status of Andovar’s offices in light of the current situation surrounding the global spread of COVID-19.
Risk summary
Thankfully Andovar's main production offices (Bangkok, Medellín and Kolkata) are in countries that are currently experiencing minimal community spreading. It has been reported that hot-weather countries, in which the majority of our country offices are based, have much lower community spreading than cold-weather countries. Hungary, our only office location that is a cold-weather country, has only a few recorded cases and the weather is expected to become hot again by April/May.
Nevertheless, to mitigate the risk of infection, we have provided training to all staff regarding prevention methods, including issuing sanitizing hand gel throughout our offices and providing instructions on how to take precautions both at home and in the workplace.
Response in the event of COVID-19 infection
In the event that an employee or visitor to any of our country offices tests positive for COVID-19, we will close the location for at least 14 days and have the office fully disinfected. Please note however that we are fully committed to continuing our projects during this time as we have implemented steps to ensure that we are 100% set up to work remotely should this come to pass.
Business continuity framework: Key points
Cloud-based systems supporting remote working: Our work is facilitated through various cloud-based production and communication systems (inc. Translation Management Systems, CMS, ERP, Microsoft Teams, Slack etc.), so we would have no issue with communication, processing and the transfer of projects during this time. Many of our staff are already used to working remotely.
Worldwide translator/ resource network: We work with worldwide translator networks, helping us to mitigate any issues that confining ourselves to a single location would present.
In-house studios as well as worldwide affiliate studios: In addition to our studio facilities in Bangkok and Medellín, we also work with numerous affiliate studios and freelancers worldwide that help us to maintain a constant level of quality with all our localization projects.
